Questions about official Dane County court dockets and records should go to the office that keeps the original. Most circuit requests belong with the Dane County Clerk of Circuit Court or Record Center, while court-date questions may require the assigned branch. WCCA provides public case information but not document images. This private resource cannot change records, reset hearings, or issue copies.

This Is Not a Court or Government Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot pull dockets, change or reset court dates, remove or seal cases, issue certified copies, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the clerk of court or the trial court directly.

Need an Official Docket or Record?

Use the route that matches the Dane County record or court task:

  • A docket sheet: run a case lookup through WCCA, or request the official record from the clerk
  • A court date or setting: check court dates, then confirm with the assigned branch or clerk
  • Certified copies: order from the clerk of court, who is the keeper of the docket and the official record
  • A specific case: search WCCA by party name or case number with Dane selected
  • Court records and case files: review court record access, or contact the proper custodian

For county-level circuit records, contact the Dane County Clerk of Circuit Court, public counter Room 1000, Dane County Courthouse/Justice Center, 215 S. Hamilton Street, Madison, WI 53703, phone 608-266-4311. The Record Center is Room 1002. Public hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, subject to posted closures. Completed court-record requests are accepted in person, by mail, or by fax, not by phone. Records questions may also be sent to dane.courtrecords@wicourts.gov. Verify the current records fax number before sending because two official county pages differ.
