Why We Built This Site
Wisconsin permits broad public access to court information, yet each custodian serves a distinct role. The Dane County Clerk of Circuit Court maintains the circuit docket and file. WCCA publishes statewide case information, but not public document images. Municipal courts keep many local ordinance and traffic matters, while WSCCA handles appellate searches. We organize verified contacts, portal choices, case-number guidance, and request steps so those boundaries are clear.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket guides: how criminal dockets and civil dockets are found in Dane County
- Court dates and settings: how to check court dates and confirm a setting
- Case lookups: how to run a case lookup by name or case number through WCCA
- Record requests: how court records and certified copies are obtained from the clerk
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to the Wisconsin Court System, Dane County Clerk of Circuit Court, or any government agency. Those limits matter:
- We cannot pull an official docket sheet or case file for anyone
- We cannot change, reschedule, or reset a court date or hearing setting
- We cannot remove, seal, or amend a case on any docket
- We cannot issue certified copies of any docket, order, or court document
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or setting listed on this site is current right now
Only the clerk of court or the trial court that heard the case can issue an official or certified copy of a docket sheet or court record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
